First Worn: Dickens Faire 2011
Beside an earlier venture of an extremely unflattering 20s dress, this was my first foray into historical costuming! AJ & Judy held my hand through this as it was totally new territory for me.
Made with Truly Victorian bustle pattern TV101, TV201 (underskirt), and TV463 (bodice, modified). All the other layers were draped/self patterned, but heavily influenced by Christine’s “Wishing Gown” from The Phantom of the Opera musical.
For the 2013 Holiday tea GBACG held I finally got around to making a hat! My first hat, yay! I just played with taping paper around until I found a shape I liked, then used heavy duty interfacing for the structure. I know now that the interfacing was too heavy but for a first attempt, I’m pretty happy with it.
